Unable to assign feature to story

Ajay Prasad November 30, 2021

I have a user who is not able to update the story with the feature that the story belongs to. The feature belongs to a project which is different from the story. The user has access to both the projects.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Ajay Prasad and welcome to the Community,

It depends what you mean by assign. If you mean he is not able to link both issues together, that is because the user needs the link issues permission in both projects.

Check the permission scheme in both projects and validate if the user is assigned to the appropriate roles or groups in both projects.

Hope this helps!

Thanks @Walter Buggenhout .

@Ajay Prasad , also check to make sure the linked issues field is on the edit screen for the story. Depending on how you are trying to link the story to a feature, you may just not be seeing the option.

On the outside chance you are talking about Versions or Components. Those are only available within the project they are created. You would need to create duplicates in all projects you want to have those values available in.

Thank you for your response. We had an issue with the permissions. User had the link issue access in one project but not the other.
