Unable to add an option to a custom field (Select List (multiple choices))

Hello,

I created a custom field that I’ve been using for several months. From time to time, I add options to it.

However, I now notice that it’s no longer possible to add options (nor to delete or modify existing options).

The "add option" button is grayed out, and when I go into the administration to configure the custom field, I can no longer find the option to configure it, only to edit the details.

How can I add an option?

I am indeed an admin in JIRA, and I’ve also tried with full permissions.

I'm here to help you out.

 

So, first did you try in your Jira instance going to Issues -> Custom fields -> find your field -> click on 3 dots -> Contexts and default value -> Edit options and then add more options ?

 

or if this still doesn't work for you, find out what's the ID of that custom field and then

go to Jira custom fields and pick any other custom field that is working fine and replace in your URL with your ID here =>   ?customFieldId=<your custom field id here>

and see if now you can access that field and configure it.
