Time tracking issue by issue

AMAG Manager July 8, 2019

I'm sure this question has been asked before - but is there anyway to report on who has logged what on a ticket by ticket basis?  We're thinking that a number of people will touch an issue through its lifecycle so we'd like to know who has logged time.

I'm aware of Tempo timesheets - but this seems like a big tool for the job and also changes the way that time is logged in JIRA which impacts on history etc.   Any ideas welcome!

Hi Andrew,

The default time tracking options in Jira are going to targeted at Issue based time logging not the user based time tracking. So it's geared to look at project to issue relations not the issue to user relations for a project level work logs.  You might be able to leverage some of the capabilities of the User Workload Report that as covered in the link shows:

Shows how much work a user has been allocated, and how long it should take.

For a specified user, you'll be able to see the number of unresolved issues assigned to the specified user, and the remaining workload, on a per-project basis.

To get reporting based on user level time tracking per issue you will need to look into a  time tracking add-on app for this functionality.  You already mentioned Tempo timesheets as an option but other time tracking apps can be found on the marketplace using this filtered down list of apps as a good starting point.

Some additional recommendations can be found in these previous posts as well:

Earl
