Hi All,
I have two questions
1) Is there any limitation to a number of characters/letters we can use for a Single line/Multiple line ( TEXT FIELD ) type ?
2) Does Jira store all historical documentation? for example, if we have one ticket for an issue and we will keep reopening the ticket every year ( to complete the review) - would all versions of the ticket including different versions of the documentation/attachments will be stored in Jira?
Single Line / Summary - 255 characters.
Multiline - Dictated by the value of jira.text.field.character.limit in Advanced Settings.
Regarding your issue, rather than reopening it each year, consider cloning it; that way, each year's issue will be properly preserved.

Yes, it's short text - 80
Issues are not "versioned", but there is a complete history of all changes made to them.
