I have created sub task- and logged the effort but same is not reflecting to story.  in the below example -

I have created a Sub task and logged 2 days 2hs. Same should be reduce in remaining time .

but same is reflecting as original estimates. Any issue? Please suggest.

Hi @Rahamatulla Shaik

You'll need to have both the original estimates and tracked time on the sub-task level, for this to work as you require.

When you check Include subtasks it pulls both the estimates and time entered from the sub-task layer and summaries it.

This does not replace the ability to separately track time at the story-level - so the only way to reduce your estimate would be to enter time spent at the story-level also.

This is why the time logged bar is orange, not blue. Because the sub-task had no original estimate, the time logged is classed as "over" the original estimate - i.e, 0 on the sub-task.

Thanks a lot for the Answer Mr. Stephen.

I have made the changes. still it is behaving weirdly.

- I have put original estimates at sub task level and time also logged

- i have put Original estimates at Story level and logged the time as per your suggestion.

My expectation;-

- Jira Should do the summary of  time logged at sub task instead of manually entering the sub of time logged at sub task level.

- When i click on "Include sub task" it is considering above the story- Which should not be the case.

Story level should be parent case and Sub task should summaries and display at story level.

Hi @Rahamatulla Shaik

In your instance, I would do either/or - either put both original estimate and time remaining at sub-task level and remove it from story-level - or just capture both at story-level.

If entered at sub-task level both should roll-up to the story, if the Include subtasks checkbox is TRUE.

There is a suggestion to enhance this, related to your original question - JRASERVER-70476 - I would advise raising one for Cloud also :)
