My team and I got back from the holidays and wanted to update our sprint board but was faced with a error screen stating "Sorry, you can't view this page" with added info stating that i do not have access :"This page is available to Jira users only. Reach out to your administrator to request Jira access."
Let it be known that i should have admin access and this issue appears to happen on all the boards.
We also do not have the option "Sprint planning" at the left pane anymore:
The only thing we see is the following with no option to add the sprint board back in under any of the option menus:
This appears to be on all our boards.
Hi @Adam Kruger and welcome to the Community,
The error suggests that you are not logged into your site or have lost product access to Jira. Your question is tagged as Jira Service Management while boards are a feature of Jira (Software). Could it be that you had a trial of Jira running before the holidays which may have expired? Since sprint planning is a feature of Jira and not JSM, it may very well be that your Jira product itself is no longer active in your site. Check the products and/or billing pages in your site admin console to make sure Jira is still there, alongside JSM.
Hope this helps!
We are using the free plan as its a rather small company. we were under the impression that the free plan will always be in affect as long as we do not exceed 10 users? Was this a misunderstanding or did this change? If so then is the only way to get it back to upgrade to a standard license?

As long as you don't surpass any limitations of the free plan (that can be users, but also file storage, ...), your free plan remains free. But it also requires you to use it actively. Atlassian may disable a product if it is not being accessed or used for more than (I believe 90) days.

You are correct, one of my colleagues have added a alternate user for themselves which sent it over 11 users. If we are 10 again, is it possible to go back to free or should we upgrade?

Hi @Adam Kruger ,
Can somebody in your organization check if you have access to Jira as a product/Jira license? I'm asking this because I can see that in the top Jira nav bar it says "Jira Service Management". That being said, if you would have access to only Jira, or to multiple Jira products (e.g. Jira (ex. Software) and Jira Service Management), collective term would be Jira and that would be stated there as well.
To get back on the topic - if you would have access to JSM for example and not a license to Jira, you would still be able to view issues (as you're doing now; that is - if permission scheme is configured that way) but not be able to use software features such as boards > therefore that might be the thing causing the issue.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tobi

I believe the reason for the change is something to do with the free plan expiring that we were on. We were under the impression that the plan is forever as long as we remain under 10 users so the solution here would probably be to upgrade to a standard plan.
