Sharing by e-mail and adding a comment when you do

NickW November 20, 2013

When an e-mail is sent using the "the share this issue by e-mailing..." button next to the Export button I would have expected the e-mail to be added to the comments section. This doesnt happen do I need to enable something somewhere?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

This is not how this functionality works.

The purpose is to simply inform the person about this issue and write an extra note why you share this issue with them. So it's not really a comment but more an extra clarification towards the person(s) you are sharing the issue with.

So it's not possible to add your note as a comment.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Nick,

You could use @Mentions for this kind of questions, you can find some more info about @Mentions here :

and here :

Hi Peter

Thanks for the info.

It would be a nice optional feature. The reason for asking is that sometimes during a bug review meeting we may fire of e-mails from a bug asking questions or updating people. It would be nice that this could be captured.

I realise we could add a comment but then the people being asked things may not be watching the bug and so they dont get a notification.

Cheers

Nick
