Share Project Issues with Customers from Service Project

We have two projects setup. One Service Project that we use as a help desk where customers can email us or use the portal to create issues. This works great. However, the majority of our customer's request are related to our software project, so we "move" the issue over to the software project.

 

This also works great, but then the customer no longer receives any email notifications on the issue even if they are the Reporter. I ran the Notifications Helper and it says they don't have permission to view the issue. 

I was able to manually add them as a "Viewer" through the Softare Project Access settings and that allowed them to view the issue and get the notifications if they are the reporter, but I can't seem to figure out how to add all of the Customers as Viewers to the Software Project without adding each of them individually. 

 

Is there a better way to share issues from our software project with customers from our service project?
