In every request type, there's the tab "Workflow Statuses", followed by a mapping between "Workflow status in Jira" to "Status name to show customer".
We have a lot of issue types that follow the same workflow, and thus it would be nice to be able to set the default status name for steps within that specific workflow so I don't have to configure 80 different issues with the same "Status name to show customer" with pretty much the same values. Is there any way to set the default status shown to customer, or is that wishful thinking?
Also, why is it so difficult to find documentation in Jira? Everything was either written in 2016, doesn't answer the original question asked, or just so convoluted and unclear that nothing is helpful, and I'm left grasping for straws. Surely there's a concise list of properties, or an index, a glossary, or something that resembles standard, concentrated, and concise documentation (ie: Javadocs, or REST API docs).
Hello @Jim Sola ! Welcome to the community!
Not 100% sure about any way to have a default workflow status name specifically for customers unless you make the actual workflow status the default but, this will show on the Service Management side as well (what agents see).
As for the documentation, here are some of my go to links:
Hope these help!
