I have added the resolution field on the screen layout but when i go to issue layout I do not see the field and therefore it is not appearing when viewing the issue.
Hang on, your screenshots are of the field/screen configuration for the different management styles for projects.
Screens and field-configurations are used by company-managed projects, and field layouts by team-managed projects.
Could you confirm which management type your project is using?

Ok, then the second screenshot of the team-managed project is irrelevant.
Your problem is that the new issue view tries to stop you making the mistake of putting the resolution on the create or edit screen, by simply supressing it if you do.
There's nothing wrong here, you should see the resolution appear when it is set by you closing the issue (and you'll be able to edit it once it's been set, which is something the old issue view doesn't allow for)

I don't understand why it's a mistake to put the resolution on the edit screen and why you would suppress that behavior without any kind of indication that it's doing so!! In our project, it doesn't show up when you change the status to "Resolved" either.
I've just spent half an hour going back and forth between the field layout and the screen configuration trying to figure out how to get the resolution to show up so that the person working on an issue can actually fill it in. Why on earth would you suppress it without any indication either in the UI or in the documentation that it will be suppressed?!?! Also, wouldn't it make sense to have a free text field that allows adding an actual description of how it was fixed? I know I can add a custom field, but it seems very strange that's not a standard field.

Yep, this is truly dumb. Every time I do Jira admin work, I'm shocked by how inscrutable everything is. Every screen involves multiple layers of hidden logic, misleading naming, etc. It's deeply nonsensical and consistently poor design.

Hello @Usman Bajwa
Just to verify you are using the "new" Jira issue view or the "old" issue view
If you are using the "old" view you need to go to configure fields and associate the resolution field with the edit screen.
Have you checked filed context? Filed context can specify on which project and issue type filed is visible or hidden.

Hi Olga, sorry not sure if this is new or old issue view, below is the screenshot of the issue view:
Also by "field Context" do you mean the setting under "System Default Field Configuration" settings (screenshot below as well)
Thank you for your help.

Okay,
Found the problem, it's this new issue view
Basically, you cant set the resolution until the issue is moved to done status.
When the issue is in status done, the field will appear next to status and you will be able to choose the resolution.

Hi Olga, I have a question here, usually when the issue status turns to "done", the "resolution" button appears, but why on my screen, when the issue status is "to do", the resolution button still there, thank you for your reply.
