I have setup all project permissions correctly for all users, meaning that users can only view tickets if they are assigned to that project or board. BUT, when the users login they can still see all project names within Jira if they click the projects link. Once they click the link Jira just goes into a never ending load which indicates they dont have access (a bug in my opinion).
How can remove these projects from the users view?
Are these users granted the "browse project" permission?

Yes but isn't that just for the projects assigned to that user or group?

Remove the user or group from the browse project permission, they wont be able to see the project
