Prevent Workflow Transition When Missing "Fix versions"? (Team Managed Project)

We have a team-managed project in Cloud Jira.

I am trying to prevent a transition to the "Verify" status when the "Fix versions" field is empty. It is not letting me do it because the "Fix versions" field is not given as an option.

Steps I expect would work (and what goes wrong):

1. Edit the workflow for the ticket types.
2. Select the transition
3. Click + to "Add Rule"
4. Select "Check an issue's field"
5. In the "Choose a field" dropdown, there is no "Fix versions" field listed. It does list a number of other fields including even some custom fields.

I tried splitting the workflow for different ticket types so that this workflow is only for ticket types that actually have the "Fix versions" field on them. Also, the "Fix versions" field is not a custom field. It is a Jira built-in field.

How do I prevent the workflow transition when the "Fix versions" field is empty?

We use automation rule in order to revert status back, add comment and notify.

Did not find any solution for this, too bad.

Hi @Jeff Walker,

I don't think this is possible in Team Managed projects at this time.  Workflow Rules are still relatively new and I'm willing to bet Atlassian hasn't gotten around to supporting all of the various types of fields yet (regardless if they are custom or system fields).

This is one of those types of things that continues to keep me using Company managed projects.

I'm sorry I can't offer a better solution for you.
