Permission to change only the workflow of your own project

Jan Praag October 8, 2012

Hi,

We would like to use Jira in the cloud for multiple projects, where each Project Leader kan change his project's workflow and mandatory fields.

But he should not have permission to change other projects, only his own.

As I understand it now, if you have permission to change the workflow, you have permission to change it ( mess it up...) in all the projects.

Is it possible to set Jira up like we want it?

shortly: NO!

Sorry to say this, but it's just not possible. Workflows are not tied to a single project buzt rather to a workflow scheme. In a project you can associate a workflow scheme and this decides what workflows are available for what issue types. This allows flexible combinations of issue types and workflows to your liking.

However, the "downwside" is that you are not able to administre your JIRA as proposed by you.

Hope that helps? Cheers, David
