I have an automation which helps me create tickets
The expectation is once the automation is run and completed. Outlook shall open where in a template mail is present and i shall be able to modify the mail and send it.
Any such possibility exists?
Thankyou Community
Hi @Madhur Ramachandruni -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
If you are asking about Jira Automation rules, the answer is: no, that is not possible.
What problem are you trying to solve by doing this? That is, "why do this?" Knowing that may help the community to offer alternative solutions.
Kind regards,
Bill
Hello @Bill Sheboy So the idea is we create tickets using automation rules and later assign it to people who are part of the project (have access to Jira board) and for people operating out of the project a mail would need to be sent.
The purpose of the automation is to create review tickets.

Thanks for clarifying the scenario, @Madhur Ramachandruni
If you can determine what the email content is from the issue fields, the rule could directly send the email to the people outside of the project.
If not, an email could be sent to the person who knows what to update / modify in the email content, and they could then update / forward it as needed.

Hello @Bill Sheboy
So are you saying an custom format email can be sent and this can be included as part of the automation rule?
The expectation with regards to the mail is to send out a mail to people who are not part of the project to perform the review. I as a sender of the mail should be able to modify the mail and also add the people whom I can send this mail to.

The email body can be entered in the rule's Send Email Action. That could contain static text and / or content based upon the Jira issue.
With an automation rule, there is no way for the rule to stop processing so you can modify the email content or sender before it is sent.
