Old tickets suddenly reopen? (status change to waiting for support)

Hi all,

I have just had my jira instance appear to reopen a load of old tickets (old ticket numbers)

these are duplicates that weren't there before and are completely blank in their history (they have reporters, descriptions and titles but nothing else

Also I cannot close them, they don't have the workflow options for issues of the same type

any help please?

thank you

Hi @Stephen Bell

Two problems I see on your post:

  • How did these tickets were created?
  • Why can't you close them?

For the first bullet I would check a couple if these duplicate's history. To see who and when created them. Maybe you will be able to understand if this was manually, or from any automation app.

For the second bullet, I would check the workflow properties of their status to see if the is any property which prohibits you from moving them. I will assume that you already have the transition issue permission.
