Hi Team,
I'm working as scrum master and Jira admin for one out come based project.
we are following Epic->Task/story->sub-task Hierarchy.
for every epic we have min 10 tasks and for those 10 we have around 20 subtasks. Now my question is where to use estimation here? for epic or for tasks or for sub-tasks? if i add estimation for subtasks and adding for tasks also in Backlog its counting for both. our requirement is for every sprint end we have to generate a report based on estimation only.
for example if i add 2h on each 2 subtasks and addition of these two which is 4 to parent task then for parent its taking 8hrs. now to create a sprint report or burn down which estimation is better
If you are using Scrum, the estimation should be done on the Task level.
Sub-tasks should not be estimated.
you mean estimation should be done standard issue type only like task etc, not on Epics and not on subtasks right?
