Hi All,

Does anyone have any recommendations on apps/add ons to Jira to pull MI. For instance something that can show tickets raised/closed/time to resolution etc that have manipulatable date ranges and also can easily be pulled off as nice looking reports?

Thank you in advance!

Jack :)

Yes, there are several apps/add-ons for Jira that can provide customizable reports, including pulling metrics such as tickets raised, closed, and time to resolution with adjustable date ranges. Some popular options include eazyBI, Better Excel Exporter, and Tempo Timesheets. It's recommended to explore different options and choose the one that best fits your specific needs and requirements.

Hi @Jack Charnley

eazyBI for Jira allows you to easily create reports and analyze Issues created and resolved and see their average or total Time to resolution. You can further categorize these Issues by Projects, Assignees, Priority, Issue Types, and a lot more.

You can check out and click around our Demo account to see what kind of reports can be created in eazyBI: https://eazybi.com/accounts/1000/dashboards/51711-start-simple

You can also check out the Training videos in our documentation to get started on the right path: https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/learn-more/training-videos

If you need any assistance starting up, feel free to reach out to us: support@eazybi.com

Thanks @Riley Venable for suggesting us!

Cheers,

Hi @Nauris Malitis , thanks for this.

Couple of questions surrounding EazyBI.

First of all, looks and sounds great. I just wanted to check. Playing around in your demo site, it has a lot of stuff on the dashboards. Are the Dashboards configurable so can you add and remove different widgets? is this all explained in the training videos on the link you sent?

Secondly, when looking in the 'analyze' tab, can you export these reports to PDF or is it case of moving it to the dashboard and then exporting from there?

Kindest regards,

Jack

Hi @Jack Charnley

Sure thing!

Yes, the workflow in eazyBI is as follows-

First, you can create several individual reports (the ones you see in the Analyze tab).

Then, you can create a Dashboard (in the Dashboard tab) to include several of the created reports, resize them, reorganize them, and use common Page filters to change the context for the whole Dashboard quickly.

All this is covered in "Episode 6: Sharing reports": - https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/learn-more/training-videos#Trainingvideos-Episode6:Sharingreports

In the Analyze tab, when viewing individual reports, you can export them in PDF, CSV, Excel, and PNG (for visuals) formats:

By the way, if you like any of the reports in the Demo dashboard, you can export their definition and import them into your own account to use with your own data: https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/analyze-and-visualize/create-reports/export-and-import-report-definitions

Let me know if you have any further questions on eazyBI!

Cheers,
Nauris

Thank you @Nauris Malitis

I have gone for the 30 day Trial as it sounds like it will do everything I need, and then providing I can do everything, will likely stick with you. If I need anything else I will be sure to give you a shout.

Kindest regards,

Jack

Hi @Nauris Malitis hope you are well.

Quick question, if I have organisations setup in JIRA, is there a way that I can report on information for each organisation? I can't seem to see it as an option when I am creating a report in my list of dimensions.

Thanks!

Hello @Jack Charnley

As an alternative , I guess you can try Time in Status  for Jira Cloud (developed by my SaaSJet team) with 7 types of status time reports can help you with this.

For example The Time in status report shows how long an issue has been spent in each status.

The Assignee time report displays how long it takes each team member to solve a task.

Also, you can export a report as XLSX or CSV files for further analysis.

If you have more questions, please let me know.

Hi @Jack Charnley

@Riley Venable is correct that there are several options available in the Marketplace.

if I may offer a concrete recommendation, from what you describe, I believe you'd like the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping, sum-up/roll-up calculations, and conditional formatting. With these, you can build reports like e.g. this one in just a couple of clicks:

reporting-v2.gif

You can also work on your issues directly in JXL, trigger various operations in Jira, or export your data to Excel or CSV in just one click. JXL is super easy to get started with: You really only need to provide a JQL expression or filter to define the scope of your sheet, and off you go.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes

Hi @Jack Charnley

As an alternative, you can try Status Time Reports app developed by our team. It mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status.

Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app.

  • This app has a dynamic status grouping feature so that you can generate various valuable reports as time in status, time in assignee, status entry dates and status counts, cycle time and lead time, average/sum reports by any field(e.g. average in progress time by project, average cycle time by issue creation month).
  • You can search issues by Project, Issue Type, Status, Assignee, Issue Creation/Resolution Date(and any other Date field) and JQL Query.
  • Status durations are calculated according to the working calendar you define. Once you enter your working calendar into the app, it takes your working schedule into account too. That is, "In Progress" time of an issue opened on Friday at 5 PM and closed on Monday at 9 AM, will be a few hours rather than 3 days.
  • You can set different duration formats.
  • You can export reports in CSV file format and open them in MS Excel.
  • You can also add this app as a gadget to your Jira dashboards and reach “Status Time” from Issue Detail page.
  • You can enable/disable access to Status Time reports&gadgets and Issue Detail page per project, users, groups or project role.

If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free.

Hope it helps.

Hi @Jack Charnley

You can try out our plugin,

Time in Status Reports

The add-on provides the time in each status for the entire lifecycle of the issue, based on the date range, assignees and multiple other filters.

Also you can group your statuses to create your own resolution time.
