Login to JIRA works but login to confluence gets a Not Allowed error

I have access to both JIRA and Confluence and both were working normally. not long ago, I started getting a "Not Allowed" error logging into Confluence but Jira continues to word as normal. Both Jira and Confluence have the same set of credentials. Confluence admin says  I show as being properly registered and assigned every user property except admin access.

Thoughts?

"Not Allowed" message usually appears if you are not a member of confluence-users group.

Please ask your administrator if you are member of confluence-users or not

@Kevin JoseyIf  you  are sure that  you  are typing the right password,  i suggest  you clear browser cache, try on other web browser and  try to  change password by  requesting a reset password link  from your login page sent to  your email and reset password and see whether it works  or not,  if  all doesn't work  you may want to contact your confluence administrator / atlassian support regarding your account  Atlassian support

best!
