Manju Nair February 3, 2022

Hi,

I am trying to log the planned total hours for the epic and it asks to select for Account , which is a drop down. Can you let me know what is this field and how to add the account values?

Steps.

Select Epic

From Actions, select Log timeLogtime.JPG

Hi @Manju Nair

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

As i can see you are using Jira cloud instance.

When you try to log the work against any issue type then normally you can see 1. Time Spent 2. Time Remaining 3. Date Started 4. Work Description.  see the screenshot.

Accounts field which you are talking about is might be because you are using some third party plugin like tempo timesheet there you have option for account. In the configuration (admin section) of the plugin you can see the account option there you can add the accounts.

Hi @Manju Nair ,

From your screenshot, it looks like you are using Tempo Timesheets to log your time and that you have a work attribute configured.

This work attribute allows users to add additional information to a worklog, in your case about the Account that the work should be connected to (https://help.tempo.io/cloud/en/tempo-timesheets/setting-up-and-configuring-tempo-timesheets/setting-up-for-using-accounts/creating-an-account-work-attribute-for-linking-time-records-to-accounts.html)

By default, the Account that is set on the issue (in the Account custom field, https://help.tempo.io/cloud/en/tempo-timesheets/setting-up-and-configuring-tempo-timesheets/setting-up-for-tempo-teams/adding-the-tempo-team-custom-field-to-jira-issue-screens.html).
The work attribute that you have created can then be used to override this default value (https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/1085046794/Tempo+Accounts+-+how+to+connect+worklogs+to+an+Account).

Please note that only Accounts that are linked to the Project that the issue you have selected to log time on belongs to, can be set in the custom field or the work attribute (https://help.tempo.io/cloud/en/tempo-timesheets/organizing-data-using-accounts/linking-accounts-to-jira-projects.html).
