Link types differentiation by projects

Nikolay Goncharov April 26, 2018

Currently all defined link types are available for all JIRA projects. It leads to some difficulties when somebody tries to link one issue to another if we have a lot of link types. The person has to search the correct link type from multitude. But frequently some specific link types are only used for some specific projects.

So, we would like you to implement an ability to define accessibility of link types for specific projects. For instance, it can be done in following modes:

  1. Default (accessible for all projects)
  2. Accessible for specific projects (a, b, c, etc.)
  3. Accessible for all projects excluding specific (a, b, c, etc.)Untitled.jpg

Hi @Nikolay Goncharov

Alexey is correct. Currently Jira does not have a solution to your requirement out of the box.

Atlassian has an open issues relating to this:

If you need a solution now, take a look at the add-on Extended Schemes for Jira. It might help you, since it introduces schemes for Link Types on a project level.
