Link confluence server to Jira cloud

In the process of migrating Jira and Confluence server to the cloud. We have already complete the Jira migration to the cloud and in the process of migrating the Confluence. 

Because we have Jira Macro in the Confluence page, we would like to link the Confluence server (internal to the company network) to Jira cloud. 

What would be the best way to approach that? 

We had asked the Atlassian support, they are saying that Jira cloud need to access Confluence server on the internal network. which really confuse us.
