We have an issue with the language settings in Jira. Some parts are in English (which is correct according to the settings), but other parts are in Norwegian. This is a bit difficult for our international team members to understand. How can we change everything to English? Our international team members are NOT located in Norway, like the rest of us.
But it seems its just the title of the table rows that's in Norwegian.
Hi @Silje Falch
Welcome to the community. What kind of projects are you working with?
There are a few tricks to try to get it as translated as possible:
1. Default language on your site (settings> system > default language)
2. All statuses can be translated. If you have default language english you can add norwegian translations for each status (settings > issues > statuses > Translate statuses) Particularly this can sometimes be confusing as admins have added norwegian statuses as an english status. Good to clean this up.
3. All resolutions can be translated. (settings > issues > resolutions > Translate resolutions)
4. All issuetypes can be translated (settings > issuetypes > three dots > Translate)
5. If a service project; you can change default language on your project (project setting > language support > default) and add additional languages to swap to.
6. If a service project and if more than one language; check your language support where most texts and headers will pop up and you can translate it section by section.
finally, there are some smaller words here and there that will be in english that has not yet been open for translation but it is very few of them.
all the best
Lisa
Welcome @Silje Falch !
Have you checked your System settings in Jira (indexing language)?
What are the settings for individual user language (When they go to Personal settings and choose the language)?
