LDAP authentication tunneling

Is there a free LDAP that forward the user authentication to other LDAP?

Suppose I have JIRA authenticating users in LDAP , but this AD does not have groups (it is not managed by me), so groups are managed in JIRA and it became a mess.

Should be possible to install my own LDAP (where I can manage new groups), but keep the the password authentication in the old LDAP?

Is there some free LDAP recommendation (with nested groups) ?

Hi Flavio,

Being honest to you, I believe a better option would be you have the users and groups in the same LDAP base. However, if you cannot do this from now, maybe this two links can help you as a start pointing:

Hope this helps.
