Kanban project type support

Fred Fang March 12, 2021

Hello,

I have a question about JIRA Kanban project type support. When I add a new project,  there is no project type field. What is the cause of this please (software version, setting or etc.) ? My JIRA version is  Atlassian JIRA (v5.0.6).

Thanks.

Jira 5 did not really have project types.

You can still create projects that you can then use Kanban boards with (assuming you have Jira Agile, which is what Jira Software was called for that version of Jira), but there's no project types etc.

Hopefully, that answers the basic question, but it does lead to some questions about what you are looking for?

Are you looking to upgrade to a supported version of Jira?

Thank you, Nic. So it is due to JIRA version.
