Jira Cloud: Can I add a notification to multiple projects at once?

I want to add a notification to multiple projects at once. The notification would have the same settings on each project and all notifications would go to the same Slack channel (#All-Projects-Jira-Notifications).

Can is there a bulk update for this or do I have to go through all 30 projects individually?

Hi Nolan,

I understand that you want to make a change in a notification scheme in Jira Cloud, and that you would like this change to take affect in 30 different projects.   Unfortunately there is no bulk change ability for notification schemes in Jira.

Since each project could potentially have its own unique notification scheme, it is possible that this change would have to occur 30 different times manually.   However notifications schemes, much like field configurations, and permission schemes, can be shared across projects.  When that happens, you can make a change in one scheme and it affects all the projects that currently use that particular scheme.   When you go to edit the notification scheme, you should see a box such as this one that says "Shared with 12 Projects"

If you know that all these projects should have all the same notification settings, then it makes sense to create a single notification scheme and then associate that scheme with each project in question.  This way it becomes a lot easier to manage the changes to that scheme later on.  In turn you can make a single change and have it applied to all those projects.  Whereas having 30 individual schemes gives you granular control of those settings in each project, but can become a pain to manage when you need to change something.

As for slack notifications, these are not directly configured by the project notifications. Instead this is something that is configured though the Jira Cloud for Slack app.  Typically within slack you can use the command /jira manage to the project connections for that particular channel.

I hope this helps.
