JQL search operators allowed for URL type field

CliffordP January 2, 2020

I didn't find "URL" as a field type documented at all at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/advanced-searching-fields-reference-764478339.html

Can it please be updated to list which operators are allowed?

I want to search fields that CONTAIN the string... For example, if the custom URL field's value is https://www.google.com/ then I want to be able to find it by searching ".com" or "google".

I tested `=` operator and it worked with the full-matching URL (not partial match), but `~` and `IN` did not.

Hello CliffordP,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Testing on my local environment, I was able to confirm that the only operators for URL custom field are =, !=, is not, is, not in and in.

Based on your question, I created a feature request suggesting the implementation of the ability to use CONTAINS to search on this custom fieldÇ

Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature and also feel free to add a comment with more examples about why this feature is important.

Angélica

You are welcome!

I created an internal ticket with our content design team asking to update the documentation.
