How do you create a JQL query quick filter on the sprint board to show only issues that are open?

What if you dont want to filter on specific projects, or that is already being done by the board filter?

@Melissa Clark  you need just to use the correct JQL "assignee is empty".

Please mark as accepted my answer so that this thread can be closed.

assignee in (EMPTY) was what worked...
