JIRA BigPicture GANTT, Non-Working day not counted

Hi,

I have set my Non-Working day on the board's setting. But when I put the task duration on the GANTT in BigPicture, the non-working days are still counted as working days.

What I did:

  1. Input Non-Working Days from Board Setting -> Working Days -> Non-Working Days
  2. Input the Start Date and duration on the task(s) in GANTT BigPicture

Anyone know what I might missed?

Thank you

Hey @Karmandroid Singularity,

Check your workload plans in Administration > Resources > Workload plans:

Perhaps, you have Saturday and Sunday included in the plan.

Hi @Kseniia Trushnikova

No, for the Workload Plans I use the Default Plan. Which exclude weekends :)

Hi @Karmandroid Singularity,

That screenshot seems to be from a Jira Board. If I am not mistaken, Biggantt has Workload Plans to manage people's working days (for your resources, rather than for your scope).

Are you using these and doesn't that impact your capacity calculations?

Hope this helps!

Hi @Walter Buggenhout

I have set it also on my Holiday plans. How do I use/set it to the GANTT?

Scheduling in the BigPicture product family is quite complex. Many factors may influence the behaviour of scheduling, such as the way you zoom into your plan (if you're looking at a daily, weekly, monthly, ... schedule) or the scheduling mode.

I've been looking through the product documentation to give you some sensible pointers, and the only section (that I could find) that mentions non-working days, is about the scheduling mode. You can find it here.

I hope it does give you a useful starting point.

Actually it's quite simple condition and should be made as a default behaviour on task scheduling such as GANTT.

Let's say I have a task:

  • Start Date = 23-Dec-2024
  • Duration = 10 Days
  • Holiday = 25-Dec, 1-Jan

With condition all team members already has the Holiday Plan assigned to them (including those dates).

The End Date should be 7-Jan-2025, not 3-Jan-2025. But GANTT set it as 3-Jan-2025, in which is making me wonder: why? shouldn't it make as default condition (in common sense) to automatically calculated the Non-Working Days without the need to do anything? (well, after we set the Workload and/or Holiday Plan, ofc)

And yes, i have read the documentation, it's just don't say anything on how to do it :). There is no How-To.
