Issue in displaying sprint dates in easy agile program in jira

ANUSHA RAJU July 21, 2021

Hi All,
As per the easy agile version 3.5.0, the Increment Overview and Team Planning Board now show dates beneath the sprints. This functionality was not there in the previous version which we were using.
As per our analysis, the dates shown here is taken from the increment's start date (which is provided while configuring the increment) and end date (calculated automatically by considering start date and the sprint duration).
Can you please confirm whether the dates shown here is from the increment date or from the mapped scrum board's start and end date.

In our case the dates in the increment and actual scrum board is not always the same.
For example, In the increment since it's a fixed interval we used to select 2 weeks sprint. But in actual scrum board the duration of sprint may not be exactly 14 days. It can be 15,16 etc.

Since the dates are different in increment and scrum board this will create confusion to users.
In our case we are following the dates of scrum board while running the sprint. But now since the increment dates are explicitly mentioned, we have a problem. In the previous version since dates was not mentioned, the users do planning as per the dates in the scrum board.

Is there any way to show the scrum board dates instead of increment dates or can we hide the increment date shown below the sprint.

Kindly assist us and let us know how to resolve this problem. It would be great if you could look onto this urgently as the issue is critical to our users as these dates are used as base for planning activity. Displaying different dates in increment and scrum board can create confusion and affect our planning activity.

The difference in date between scrum board and increment is because:

  • In Scrum/Kanban board we have a provision to select the working dates and mention the non working days. So only the relevant working days will be displayed in all reports and gadgets.

  • But while configuring the increment, we only have a provision to select start date and sprint duration. So it is automatically calculating based on sprint duration ie, 14 days for 2 weeks. Here we are not excluding the non-working days ie, weekends and public holidays. This is creating a problem for us since we cant explicitly specify dates in the increment.

Kindly let us know if there is any way to configure the increment days by considering the holidays as well.
