Is there a way to easily copy or templatize a kanban board?

I'm trying to understand if I'm missing an easier way to setup a template kanban board for use with new projects.

I've got a template project setup, including a template kanban board designed for the custom workflows. When I create a new project, I use the "Share settings with an existing project" option. The new project is setup well, and without a kanban board.

I'm able to find the All boards list, and make use of the Copy function, basically what's in the answer for this post.

However, in order to actually make a new board, the steps involved are:

  1. Create the new project with the shared settings
  2. Navigate to All Filters
  3. Copy the filter for the template kanban board
  4. For the new filter:
    1. Manually rename for the new project
    2. Manually change the associated project with the filter
    3. Save
  5. Navigate to All Boards
  6. Copy the template kanban board
  7. For the new board:
    1. Manually rename it
    2. Change the location to the new project
    3. Change which filter the board uses

This seems excessive, when so many other settings allow for custom schemes. Am I missing a scheme for a board? Is there some better way to do what I'm doing?
