Is there a way to disable the Project Type label that appears below the project name?

We need to have two projects set up to maintain two different major parts of our overall project. 

We have software, which easily uses the software project template. 

We also have systems engineering, which needs the same functionality of the sw project template. However, we need for it not to say "software project" up near the avatar. 

Is there a way to disable this? We tried just using a Business Project for systems engineering, but it did not have the functionality we needed.

Project fall under 3 project types and therefore, a project must belong to one type. So to answer your question, no, you can't disable the project type.

I do not want to disable the type, I just don't want the name of the type to be displayed.
