We have developed our own app and we have a support contact included. What we would like to do is when ever anyone sends a message to the contact that should be raised as a ticket in Jira. Is that possible. If yes, could you please provide your api for integration.
You can certainly create a mail handler in Jira in order to have Jira check a mailbox for messages which in turn could be used to create issues from these.
However even that guide suggests if you are doing this in order to then communicate with customers, it would probably be better use Jira Service Desk, as this way you can have a separate account for each customer, and customers do not have additional licensing fees beyond that of the Service Desk license itself.
