Issue 'Sub-Task' is present in my project configuration but when I want to create an issue of type 'Sub-Task' I don't find this option in the drop down. I have referred to the below link to find answers but no luck.
I can't enable to disable or try and add the issue of type sub-task.
All Sub-tasks must have a parent issue. So you can't create them by clicking on "Create" button. Within the parent issue (any issue-type except sub-task), click on "More" and then select "Create Sub-task"
Hi @Vijaylaxmi Sansuddi ,
I will tell you the way I know.
A sub-task can only be created on a parent issue only. But there is no option to create a sub-task as other issue types.
For example: In your Jira project, if you have a Task, Bug, Improvement, and other issues are created already, then you can open that issue and navigate to
More dropdown, then click Create sub-task as shown below:
Thanks,
Raja

Is it still relevant? Can't we create a `Sub-task` directly by clicking on the `Create` button. I understand that a `Sub-task` can be created as a child of a parent only. But that does not mean `Issue Type` should not include the `Sub-task` option. Once a user selects the issue type as `Sub-task`, we can force to choose the parent as a mandatory field.
