Hello @Nicole Angelilli

Are you using a Classic project or a Next Gen project?

Are you using a Scrum board or a Kanban board?

Can you provide screen images showing:

  1. The issue key and status for one of your "open cards" that is not in the backlog
  2. The backlog, showing that card is missing
  3. If you are using a board with an Agile project, an image of the filter for the board.

Does this help?

Based on the images it is apparent that you are using a Classic project and a Scrum board.

Please identify a specific "open" issue that you are not seeing in the backlog.

Please get an image of the Board Settings > General screen that shows the Filter Query and Sub-filter settings for the board.

also to clarify, even if it is in a status of Done. Closed or Installed - if they never did a sprint - wouldn't those still show on backlog as well?

No, issues that have a status that is within the "Done" Status Category will not show in the backlog of a scrum board, even if they have never been in a sprint.

Hi Nicole,

I am not exactly sure what you are referring to - can you explain a little more?

Do you have cards that are in the Backlog status on a project but not in the Backlog for that board?

Nicole Angelilli February 19, 2021

Yes that is correct - I have cards that are a backlog status, but not on the backlog. jiraboard2.pngjiraboard.png

I suspect it might be something with your board filter - can you take a look at it to make sure that it is not excluding the cards for some reason? Be sure to also look at the Sub-filter for the board.

You can see both by going to Board settings > General

The sub-filter will be at the very bottom

It also looks like only one Issue Type is showing in your Backlog.

Ah, this looks to be a Scrum board. Are the other cards associated with an Active Sprint?

Also, can you share a screenshot of the Columns in your board filters that shows the statuses mapped to the board?

If the closed, Done, installed will not display in backlog even if not completed in a sprint - then I am set - what you provided helped. Thank you.
