How to show the owner of each sub-tasks in the list?

I’m currently attempting to migrate from Jira Server to Jira Cloud. I’m comparing differences between the old and new versions to highlight the changes for end-users. I’ve encountered two main issues:

  1. The issue type is no longer displayed as text; I have to mouse over the icon to see it in a tooltip. It seems there’s no direct solution for this.
  2. On sub-tasks, only the avatar of the owner is shown, not the owner’s name. This makes it inconvenient to quickly identify who’s responsible.

I’d like to ask: Is there any way to configure sub-tasks so that the owner’s name is displayed? This corresponds to item #6 in my comparison chart between the old and new versions.

Hello @jiralab

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Jira Cloud does not support customizing the fields that display in the subtask table. There is a change request about that here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-70206

At this time it would require adding a third party app to get the ability to customize the fields shown for sub-tasks when viewing their parent issue.

Thanks for the information. It seems that, at this stage, the possible options are:

  1. Use a third-party app to modify how the data is displayed.
  2. Ask team members to clearly update their user avatars.

Hi @jiralab

welcome to the community!

As already suggested, this isn't currently possible, however if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you should get pretty close; see e.g. this thread for possible directions forward.

Best, Hannes
