How to set the 'related to' relationship between 2 issues only once?

Hi all,

we are using the automation rule 'lookup issues' to find all cloned issues with one issue and then link the related relationship between them.  For example, we have issue B and issue C which are cloned by issue A, and we want to create related relationship between issue B and issue C.

However, I find that when I lookup issue B for the first time, it links the relationship between issue B and issue C successfully. And when I lookup issue C for the second time, it will also link the relationship between issue C and issue B. So it will link the relationship twice.

How can I fix my automation and set the 'related to' relationship between 2 issues only once?

HI @Yueji Huang_黄越己_

If you create a link between issues depending on the direction one issue has an outbound link to the other issue and the other issue has an inbound link.

This is how linking works in Jira.
