How to set mandatory field when status changed

Hi guys, I would like to set a rule :

When the case status is changed to "Resolved" the user gets a notification " Please fill out root cause before resolving this case" and the field "Root Cause" becomes mandatory so without documenting the root cause case can't be resolved.

Hi Igal,

I would place a transition screen on the transition to "Resolved" (there probably is one already), add "Root Cause" to the screen and use a validator to make the field mandatory.

Hi @Igal Altshuler 

Maybe the simpler way is to add a validator to your workflow transition, in Jira you can define a validator that checks custom field values, if the field is empty you can display a custom message.
