I'm new to Jira administration, and I'm a bit confused.
Using any of the 3 default project types in the Software category (so Scrum/Kanban/Basic), I'm not able to set the Resolution.
All I can do is to move the issue in the workflow to Done, and it will set the Resolution to Done.
I've also checked the Transition for this in the Workflows.

I did two changes for the Transition "Done" in the Workflow created for a Basic ("Basic software development") project:
1. Removed the Post Function which set the Resolution field (to 10000)
2. Set the Tansition's Screen to be the built in "Resolve Issue Screen"

Now I'm able to set a Resolution other than Done manually.

Is my approach correct? Is this the right way to make Resolution adjustable?
Why isn't this approach the default? So why don't let Resolution to be set other then Done by default?

Hello,

Your approach is right. Defaults are never good for everybody.
