Upon issue creation, if a certain option in a certain custom field is selected, I'd like a certain user to receive a general email notification about it.
I tried the project automation's "send email" feature, but the email editor itself is kind of meh. I simply want it to send a general Jira email, complete with links to the issue that was created. This "send email" feature doesn't allow for such things.

Hi @Brian Sweet
Would you please post an image of your rule? That will give the community some context to offer suggestions, as the send email action of automation rules is able to send a link to issues.
Best regards,
Bill

I don't have a screenshot at the moment but it's a basic rule that is triggered upon issue creation then sends an email. I didn't find any parameters on the screen that will post a link to the issue.
