How to make the approver field mandatory on JIRA screen/UI of an issue

It should also have a description like "Enter Approver name" and it should be a mandatory field both while creating an issue or updating an issue.

Hi @priyanka.raha 

Go to the Project Settings and in that select Field Configuration Scheme, 

Then select edit to edit the description and select required option to make the field required.

You can do that by make that field as "Required" in field configuration scheme
