I assume you mean a field in Jira. The field should only appear on the create screen and on no other screens. Than, this field is read-only and can only be set during ticket creation.

If you want to create a new field that will always be read-only through the interface (i.e. only set through automations or API calls), you an create it as a Text Field (read-only) custom field, which is available as an Advanced field type:

can i known where your jira field need to be in ready only mode.
1. if you want Jira field in read-only mode after ticket is created.
please copy the screens and associate that field in issue view screen and issue create screen not in edit screen.
2. if you want that Jira field need to be in read-only mode in all situation,

I 'm assuming as per your ask and provided basic ways for your reference
1. You just create a custom message view field as a new field and map it to the required issue type screen.
Or
2. If you want to restrict the existing custom field edition (field type can be any type, like drop-down or multi-choice), you can simply remove the field from the edit screen.

You can add your field on the view screen not on the edit screen. and in the create screen in case you want to add any data
