How to define start/end-dates of sprints in advance?

Thomas Kowalzik November 13, 2013

Hello,

I want to create sprints in advance for the next 6 months and would like to enter their start- and end-date.

1) How can I achieve this?

2) Is there an overview like a roadmap with the planned sprints (and eventually already planned User-Stories for these sprints?) so that I can show my stakeholders when which feature is being developed?

Thanks,

Thomas

I do not think you can plan multiple sprints in advance. JIRA Agile lets you plan the start and end date of the current sprint only.

I understand your requirement, so what you can do is assign versions to all your user stories and you can set a release date on your version which can be used for reporting purposes on when a story is planned to be developed.

In the newer jira agile version (6.2), you can manage versions directly from the jira agile boards.
