How is Velocity Chart generated when items are removed from sprint?

Jeff Hayes

Hi,

I have a question with regards to the Velocity Chart report for Jira Server.  I routinely have to add and remove items from my active sprint and don't fully understand how the graph is representing my Commitments vs. Completed tasks.  Can someone explain what happens if:

  1. A task is there at the start of the sprint, but then later removed and placed into a future sprint or placed back in the Product backlog before the sprint is closed?
  2. A task is added AFTER the sprint is started, but then later removed prior to the end of the sprint
  3. A task is added AFTER the sprint is started and then later ABANDONED prior to the end of the sprint

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello @Jeff Hayes ,

As of my Knowledge.

The velocity Chart we get based on the Sprint Closing Date.

We can see the added , removed , scope change in Sprint Burndown / Burnup charts.

Thanks,

Anvesh
