I'm struggling with something that seems like it should be really basic. I have specs in confluence. I have issues in jira. When I create an issue I want to link into that issue the link to the confluence page.
I can't seem to find any way to do that short of pasting the entire ugly URL into the Description of the issue. Is that truly the only way to point a JIRA user at a confluence page?
Go to the JIRA issue
Click on More button
Select Link
Select Confluence Page on left hand side
Enter Confluence page URL
After linking the Confluence page will appear as a Wiki link on the JIRA issue and the JIRA issue link will show up on the Confluence page.
Hope this solves your issue.
Or you could link the issue from the Confluence page and you will have the "mentioned in" link in the issue detailed view.

My Jira issue pages don't have More buttons any longer. I recall that they used to, but the crazy, disruptive UI changes seem to have eliminated it.

There must be three dots. You can see them in the screenshot below

Hi Alex,
As an addition you can use the C4J addon that displays the linked Confluence page content inside the Jira Issue itself see https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222263/c4j-content-display-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview
