How do you associate more than one workflow scheme to a project?

Deleted user May 1, 2019

I would like to create a unique workflow for bugs. To do this, I have created the new bug workflow, included it in a new workflow scheme that is limited to just bugs, and now I need to associate that scheme to each project in Jira. but alas, I can't add more than one workflow scheme to a project...BUT I can switch schemes..but that doesn't solve the problem. Any ideas what im doing wrong??

Hi Kirsten,

If I understand correctly what you may need is to associate different workflows to different issue types. You can create a workflow scheme where there are different workflows defined for different issues. E.g. for Bugs, Improvements, Stories, Pizzas and Unassigned:

Yes that sounds like exactly what I need to do!

Cool. Then you can create the workflows that you want under Jira settings-> Workflows (or copy an existing one and modify it), and then under workflow schemes you can edit the workflow scheme that you're using for your project, add a workflow:

,and associate it to the corresponding issue type:

Let me know if you need more details. Thanks, and good luck!
