How do I find unused components with JQL

Astrid Grime December 8, 2022

As all project members can create new components and we do have a lot of them I would like to be able to find those never been used, some are really  not used others are typo's.  I could scroll down the list of course,  but ain't it possible to search for them ?

HI @Astrid Grime

Create a filter including all issues from all the projects you would like to analyse the data from.

Then, add a Pie Chart gadget on a dashboard with Statistic Type 'Components'

Or add a Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget to the dashboard:

  • XAxis/YAxis: 'Project' or 'Components'
  • Sort By: 'Total'
  • Sort Direction: 'Descending'
  • Number of Results:(top 10/20/...)

have you tried it ?

For the version I use: v8.8.0

The Pie chart does only show components used in at least 1 issue and the same applies for the two dimensional filter statistics

Still need this one and still it is not possible to do it the suggested way.  Now I have this version of Jira:   V9.12.8
