How do I enable the Service Desk Customer Portal Link in JIRA 7.3.6

Marc Keil

Hi all,

one question I have while upgrade to JIRA 7.3.6 from 6.4.X:

In 6.4 I have a Service Desk item in the Navbar leading me to the Help Desk view. I failed to find this in 7.3.6. I searched through the various Service Desk Modules but didn't find a disabled "Nav-object" module.

Is there a easy way to restore this connection between JIRA and JSD?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Marc

Dear Marc,

In the older versions of JIRA, JSD was much more of a standalone product. Since JIRA 7, JSD can be fully integrated with Jira.

When using Jira Service Desk (JSD) in combination with JIRA 7 or higher, JSD will have big changes. For example your question; You do no longer acces JSD itself through a seperate nav.. but instead you can make Service Desk projects which itself has a Support Desk;

See the below documentation for these changes + migration:

Friendly Regards,

Jeremy
