How can i get the "Create Linked Issue" button back?

Muk July 2, 2019

Hello Atlassian Community,

We are having a problem with the new Jira.

There is no longer this feature to create a linked issue (i have circled it in yellow).

I have looked at numerous QA's and tickets to get that ability back, but i have not succeeded.

Please advise me on how i can at least get the similar functionality back without having to create a sub-task, or another issue, then go back to the old issue i was working on and click "link issue" and then choose "relates to".

Yes, i have tried using the "link issue" button, but i cannot create a linked issue. I can only link existing issues, then i have to go back and link it together.

I appreciate any help. Thank you!

You need to work with the Admin to get you the permission. In the permission scheme you need access to the "Link Issue" permission.

Okay, i am an admin already. What should i do ?

I still can't create linked issues.

Do you know what to do next?

How to turn on Issue linking in the newer version of Jira?

can you share a screen shot of the changes?

Would you like a screenshot of the permissions or what a sample issue looks like?

next to edit you will see the remove option to modify the option. Remove all of them and just leave:

Application access (Any logged in user)

and try again.

oh i missed asking this question (this should have been the first question). Is this a software Project? If yes, then this feature is not available.  here is the link for the issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-13625

If its not a software project, can you check if the issue linking is turned on:

It appears in the new view for Service Desk the 'Create linked issue' is not available on the issue or in the project settings as before.

This is a huuuuuge disappointment.

yeah, there was no reason to remove it.
