How can I transfer an issue from Jira to Cherwell or Azure DevOps as soon as possible?

Someone is reporting an issue in Jira for a project that should be solved by another system like Cherwell or Azure DevOps. Support should be able to transfer the issue to Cherwell or Azure DevOps with one click of a button or as fast as possible. Is this possible?

@Stijn_Mensink you can create automation rules which can do this for you.

Either choose to email issue to Cherwell/Azure Devops or use the send 'web request' action to reach an endpoint in either Cherwell or Azure Devops and create the issue their.

You can choose to have two different manual automation rules, which allows your agents to choose if the issue should be transferred to one system or the other. On top of that you can automatically close the issue in Jira with resolution e.g. 'transferred' and leave a comment to the customer that his/her ticket has been transferred.

Thanks for your answer. Do you have suggestions on how to set that up? What HTTP method to use and the web request body. I don't have a lot experience with this.

You have to take a look at the Cherwell rest api docs and the Azure Devops docs which explains which settings to use.

Hi @Stijn_Mensink

Yes, it is possible. Appfire's TFS4JIRA Azure DevOps Integration offers bi-directional synchronization of data between Jira and Azure DevOps so changes made in one platform are automatically updated and made visible in the other platform. One of our product experts would be happy to give you a demo of the app. You can schedule a demo via our marketplace listing.
I'm the Product Marketing Manager for this app and would be happy to help answer any questions you might have as well.
