I've received notice that you're shutting down access soon to the old view. But there's still no word on how to get to a raw markdown view without resorting to the old view.
How does Atlassian intend for this to be accomplished? I have workflows that depend on access to the raw markdown.
Hi Bruce,
hopefully I am not mixing up things because there has been many discussions around this topics in the past.
I found https://support.atlassian.com/jira-core-cloud/docs/what-is-the-new-jira-issue-view/
Where it is stated:
The new issue view comes with the new editor, which has a cleaner look, markdown support, [...]
The link leads to:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/markdown-and-keyboard-shortcuts/
I understand you in a way this does not work out for you.
Are you getting an error message or are those options just not displayed for you?
Cheers,
Daniel
This just goes over how to add markdown what the OP and I want is a way to view raw markdown NOT the WYSIWYG interpretation of the markdown.
For example I opened a new ticket today and put all my markdown for a table, but missed adding a space between || so it caused one row to be a cell short. If I could view the raw markdown I could add the space and be done, but no, in the new view I had to futz around with the dang WYSIWYG editor to get it to work. A 2 second task took minutes.
Having a product that faces a ton of devs not allow us access to edit raw input is a disgrace IMO.
I will fully retract my ire if I am wrong and missing something.

I see - and it sounds unpleasant.
You could check if this Suggestion is fully describing the effect you are dealing it and upvote then:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-73906
But probably it would be better to create a new Suggestion there.
I do not believe in this thread will be much traffic beyond to what we already discussed.

Hi @Ed Huang
welcome to Atlassian Community!
I am sorry to hear you have this horrible experience - but to be honest, traffic on this thread here is nearly none meanwhile (after some months passed that is usual to happen...).
You still could upvote https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-73906 - this is the central place where feedback is seen.
Of course, there speaks nothing against posting a follow-up in Community, if you like to.
Regards,
Daniel
